It's just another outlet to have my opinion heard as well as the opinion of my readers. So, feel free to make comments! I look forward to hearing from you!

Have 4 tickets on the Ohio State side, asking face value of $150/ticket. Email me at email@example.com if interested.

I started inhouston.ning.com which is also a LinkedIn group among others.
I was networking on LinkedIn like I do in person and found that there were hundreds of thousands of people on LinkedIn in Houston. I started meeting them onsie twosies for coffee and realized that it would take many lifetimes to meet them all that way and many more to even try to help them.
At about the same time, I started to apply lessons learned from a book like Never Eat Alone by Ferrazzi and… Continue

If you are like most Internet users you likely have more than one email account and subscribe to a few social networks such as LinkedIn or InHouston. According to eMarketer 65% of all users maintain 3 or more email accounts and belong to at least one social network. Simply keeping track of all your online communications can be a nightmare; many of us refer to this problem as "Information Overload." Existing tools like Outlook or Gmail may not… Continue

Life as a consultant often means traveling and relying on the services of others. With services we have all experienced the good (Vonage), the bad (Comcast) and the ugly (Kool Breeze). As my fellow tweeters know, these were a few of my experiences when I moved to Houston in July.
I worked in Houston for over a year before moving my family down from Ohio. This meant I had to rely on services of many others to get thru the week, be it for transportation, hotel, food and anything else a… Continue

As a new member of InHouston I was very impressed with my first networking function. Everyone was receptive to meeting new people and made me feel welcome and genuinely interested in me and my company. Great group Eric and I'm looking forward to attending more functions in the future and learning how I can support each and every member of the group!

Is Myspace a good place for Business?
It is pertinent to take advantage of all the free marketing the internet has provided in the last few years. Myspace being one of them. Feel free to design your own free Myspace page for your business. It’s free and relatively easy to manage. It’s a great networking tool as well. You can meet people that may turn out to be your competitors or your new clients. Make your Myspace page similar to your website layout so that it will be easily recognizable… Continue

Acceptable Identification for Closing
The HUD has been reviewed and the numbers are perfect! Your borrower/buyer is not bringing more money to the table than what had been estimated. All parties have arrived for closing and the Escrow Officer asks for the borrower’s driver’s license. It is EXPIRED! What now?
We can accept other forms of ID besides a driver’s license. The following criteria must apply for an ID to be acceptable for closing:
• It is issued by the… Continue

The 12/10/2008 Mixer is upon us.
Use the invite link there to invite your crowd.
There are already 100+ RSVP'd and experience shows that means we will probably have more than 200 show up.
We only have 200 name tags from our name tag sponsor Smith& Associates because it seemed a conservative number, so show up early to get a name tag so that people in the crowd can… Continue

Give It First or Pay It Forward?
Servant leadership snuck into my life while I was trying to figure out what all the fuss was about networking. I had met people who lived it out in my life before I ever knew its name.
Before I'd ever learned how to network, I owned (and still own) a small boutique specialty IT firm. Prior to that I was a geek's geek. I can still geek… Continue

So what is your favorite Texas city or town and why? What is the best time to travel there (if you know)? If you have more than one, just list them. I'll start.
1. South Padre Island (http://www.spichamber.com/visitorguide/welcome.php): Great beaches, wonderful weather during May, quiet and serene. There are quite a few nature activities (ecotourism) and it's not expensive to visit. Best of all, the locals and business owners are very nice and helpful, and it's not too touristy. I… Continue

I travel a lot and today was the most frustrating day I've had in a long time.
I'm in beautiful, but cold, St. Louis and while trying to get dinner I met a 'gentleman' who asked me where I was from. Proudly, I stated "Houston". He started telling me why Houston was a horrible place. But mostly he kept going back to "it's all concrete."
So I told him all the great things that Houston has. Not to convince him, that was clearly impossible, but to let him know that I'm proud… Continue

Your customers all have a perception of you now. You have an identity that your are trying to portray. To be successful, your customer perception needs to match your corporate identity. When they do, that’s authenticity and the making of a brand. When they aren’t, you’re either overselling yourself or underselling selling. Is your company living to your customers expectations? Are you telling the right story? Are you willing to sit back and let other people define you or are you going to be… Continue
