Audi Fashion Houston Week 2010: Fashion Runway Show Day 1
Cesar Galindo began his career on Seventh Avenue during the mid 1980s, when, after moving from his native city of Houston, Texas, he became Carmelo Pomodoro’s assistant designer. After developing the U.S. presence of TSE cashmere, Galindo began designing his own signature label, selling to upscale designer boutiques including Martha Henri Bendel, as well as large store chains such as Bloomingdale’s.
Often called upon to develop, customize and refine a designer’s vision, his work is showcased internationally and is featured in print, as well as on television and in films. Galindo has worked for Dolce and Gabbana and is also part of The Creative Development and Design Team at Calvin Klein Women’s Collection. Beginning in 2003, Cesar began an ongoing collaboration with Seth Cohen, a menswear and accessory designer. Together, they create cocktail and eveningwear collections that are imbued with the technical skills and creative artistry of Galindo and the color and silhouette direction of Cohen.

The Lyn Devon collection is a reflection of her passion for modernizing iconic American design. She has a keen sensibility for bringing precise tailoring and impeccable finishing to clothing you can live in. Inspired by American icons like Audrey Hepburn and the collections of iconic American designers from McCardell and Beene to Mizrahi and Lauren, she combines timeless elegance with her own bold and spirited perspective.
Born and raised in New York, Lyn Devon received her degree at Brown University and went on to study at Parsons. Devon designed women’s ready-to-wear for Ralph Lauren.
While there, she began designing and producing custom clothing out of her living room for a small private clientele. This allowed her to cultivate her design philosophy with a unique approach that brings the customers’ needs to the forefront of her creative process.
Lyn Devon presented her first full ready-to-wear collection in September 2005, and was quickly named Women’s Design “Rising Star” by the Fashion Group International. Following the debut of her Fall/Winter 2008 collection, Style.com called her one of “The Season’s 10 Most Promising Talents” and soon after she was awarded the prestigious Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for women’s wear. In October 2009, she was accepted as one of the 30 new members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Raised by a creative family in Annapolis, Maryland, Christian began designing at just thirteen years old and attended the Baltimore School for the Arts and the American Intercontinental University in London, where he interned with punk legend Vivienne Westwood, and with Alexander McQueen. Upon returning to the United States and moving to New York City, Christian’s break came when he earned a spot on season four of Bravo’s hit program Project Runway. Despite fierce competition, Christian became the show’s youngest winner, fan favorite, and a rising star in the fashion world.
Christian shows a full collection every season as part of New York Fashion Week, with past shows being sponsored by LG, Sprint, Victoria’s Secret, Cibu International, and Aveda.
He has designed for a growing list of celebrity clients, including Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Vanessa Williams, Christina Hendricks, Alexis Bledel, Amber Rose, Pink, Estelle, Mena Suvari, Kelly Rowland, Nicole Scherzinger and the Pussycat Dolls, Becki Newton, Maggie Grace, Kat DeLuna, Tori Spelling, Melanie Fiona, Thalia, and Whoopi Goldberg in her role as host of the 2008 Tony Awards. He has signed on to design a full couture collection to appear in the upcoming film Eloise in Paris, starring Uma Thurman.
Christian’s current additional projects include joining the likes of Abaete, Alice + Olivia, and Patricia Field in creating a recurring line of shoes and bags for Payless which first became available in September 2009. In fall 2009, he also created a line of makeup for Victoria’s Secret, a limited edition holiday season design collaboration for Starbucks. Last year, he collaborated with Puma. Between his design projects, Christian has also written a style guide titled Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self, available now, and he embarked on a book tour in the fall of 2009
