Total prize money for the eight-woman event was 00. In the presentation after the finals, Bill Cutler of Philip Morris, tournament director Delores Hornberger (in peach colored outfit) and World Tennis magazine founder Gladys Heldman (whose idea it was to stage the tournament) can be seen. Heldman is wearing sunglasses. After this match, the players met at Heldman’s house and voted to have Gladys put together a women’s-only tour for 1971.
