Proceeds from a Salsa social on April 9, 2011, were used to benefit victims of the recent earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. The social was held in Houston, Texas (USA) and was called “Salsa for Japan.”

The song used in this clip is “Salsa Caliente” by Orquesta de la Luz, which is a famous Salsa band from Japan. This variation of Salsa dancing (also called “Casino Rueda,” “Rueda de Casino,” or “Salsa Rueda”) is based out of Cuba and Miami. These dancers were members of the SSS performance team and the “caller” is Michael Whitmire (who is currently the lead instructor of “Salsa Grande” in Houston).

The dancers in this clip are:

Michael W. (caller)
Richard S.
Artemio V.
Leslie C.
Cheryl B.
Amy S.
