Today is my birthday. January 13, 1962 is the year that my mother was granted her wish, to have a baby girl.
I can say that I've lived a full life but not a miraculously successful one. I still find the dependence of others a problem I'm trying to resolve. I do have businesses in IT consulting, writing assignments and articles, and now I've even partnered up with my daughter to knit and crochet hats, scarves, baby items, and afghans. This is a fun adventure I've put myself on.
I hope to invite all members of my world, whether Facebook, inHouston, Twitter, or whomever to take a jump with me and let's see if the water is warm thanks to the reported global warming, oh, sorry, Climate Change. If you get cold, I have hats and scarves and can get an afghan together for you to buy.
As for 2010, my resolution is to re-invent Kate. I have been doing little things, have to do bigger things. My hair is now permed in a nice loose curl, I had my brown with silver hair colored to a lovely dark auburn with highlights, and have contact lenses I've been trying to put into my eyes successfully more than once a month. I will be exercising and eating better and my biggest resolution is to stay calm. Even though the world is full of stress that is no reason to fly off the handle.
What is your resolution? The normal "lose weight" or "get that degree" are great prospects as much as becoming a doctor, or changing jobs, or staying calm are. As long as you stick to it do you know what you've done? You've accomplished something! Sticking to your plans is hard. If you don't succeed in your mind then you won't succeed in reality. But... by not giving up you've shown success. Good for you!
Now, Happy Birthday to me.... and hope that all your days are bright for you.
