Sponsor needed - Live Streaming of Uptown Mixer

We have had a request for live streaming video of the mixer at Uptown Park. Anyone who wishes to volunteer to do that first can have that live feed featured on the site and I will be glad to work out other benefits that might make this worthwhile. Since our group is non-fee, we cannot pay for said service, but we can barter in exchange a bunch of exposure.

My Inspiration for Today

As you begin to take action toward the fulfillment of your goals and dreams, you must realize that not every action will be perfect. Not every action will produce the desired result. Not every action will work. Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right.

Networking 101: Give First Without Expectation of Return

In a recent parenting class I learned 8 ways to bond. It is very important for parents to have a bond of trust with their kids. This is also very important in business networking of the type I like to call Servant Leadership Netweaving.

My mentors in Servant Leadership Netweaving were very good at these 8 keys to bonding. Through these we were able to build a deep trust relationship.

  1. Express unconditional love

Love in business relationships? What? Are you crazy?…

UpTown Mixer - First time's a charmer!

I have recently signed up on this web site and attended my first Uptown Mixer last night. I arrived right around 3 PM and already there were many people there. I introduced myself to Eric Standlee, having recognized him from his web site photo. He was engaged in a business meeting, but promised to chat with me later. Cyndi Gutowski, my first "friend" on the web site recognized me from my web site photo and greeted me warmly and enthiastically. I met many great people and had several interesting… Continue

Last night's event was Giganourmous!

It was and explosive success. We had tons of movers and shakers there. It is almost like if you weren't there you aren't a mover and shaker. I also heard many rumors of deals happening. We are making an impact on the economy of Houston.

While the memory is clear, share what you thought in a blog post here at http://inhouston.ning.com/profile/blog/new and I will pick the best and feature them.

Get the word out about… Continue

In Houston member Hale Stewart On the BBC

I was recently asked to participate on a BBC radio program called World Have Your Say. The topic was "who is responsible for the economic problems we're facing?" You can here the entire program here: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/worldservice/whys/whys_20090309-1900a.mp3. I'm on in the last 7-10 minutes of the show.

The "Secret" To Success

“The reason success is considered a secret is that it remains an enigma. It seems that there are very few people who are willing to put forth the effort to get from where they are to where they want to be. Most make excuses and blame others for their own poor choices. The biggest secret (and the biggest obstacle) to success is you, there's a big difference in knowing what to do, and doing it.” -From Jeffrey Gitomer's internationally syndicated column Sales Moves
