We have had a request for live streaming video of the mixer at Uptown Park. Anyone who wishes to volunteer to do that first can have that live feed featured on the site and I will be glad to work out other benefits that might make this worthwhile. Since our group is non-fee, we cannot pay for said service, but we can barter in exchange a bunch of exposure.

As you begin to take action toward the fulfillment of your goals and dreams, you must realize that not every action will be perfect. Not every action will produce the desired result. Not every action will work. Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right.

"Confusion and ambiguity kills; clarity keeps us safe." Anonymous
How many times have you given instructions only to have an outcome not at all what you thought it would be? For instance, you are driving down the road and are told to "make a right at the third intersection". Sounds clear - except if you are passing through the intersection at the time. Do you count that intersection as the first one, or count the next one as the first?
Perhaps 'kill' is a drastic… Continue

Here's the story...
A few weeks back, I attended an evening mixer for a well known national business organization who shall remain nameless. (Why shall they remain nameless? Because they don't deserve any press from me--or you for that matter.) It's the PRINCIPLE violated that I want to cover that really matters. But I digress...
At the mixer, there was a person whose sole function for the organization is to meet and greet both new AND prospective members. Considering that… Continue

I Think I Know What A Referral Is, But How Important Are They?
Your business is thriving and you don't do ANY

Look at the publicity you're getting because your business is featured in all those magazines and stuff! You're sitting on the beach… Continue

In a recent parenting class I learned 8 ways to bond. It is very important for parents to have a bond of trust with their kids. This is also very important in business networking of the type I like to call Servant Leadership Netweaving.
My mentors in Servant Leadership Netweaving were very good at these 8 keys to bonding. Through these we were able to build a deep trust relationship.

What I learned about Flood Claims from Hurricane Ike
Being a Licensed Insurance Agent in Texas for 14 years does not mean that a person has or will ever experience a wave of water 12 feet high devastating the homes of your friends. We were blessed that each client with a flooded home had flood insurance coverage. Even if you are a flood policy expert, the claims processing is a journey that can only be traveled.
Some things I’ve learned are:
