More Courier Service Guidance...

One thing that I have learned over the years is that you need to educate yourself before making any business decisions. Choosing the right company for your courier service needs is no exception. As a Houston courier service provider, I unfortunately, run across so many other courier service providers that are inexperienced, unlicensed, uninsured and not prepared to provide the level of service that customers deserve. I run across them because my company has to fix what they have done… Continue

Introduction to Business Coaching

Many people often confuse business consulting with business coaching. What's the difference? Well, a business consultant is someone with industry specific experience that can come into your business and 'fix' whatever challenge you may be facing. This is usually accompanied by a hefty pricetag! Of course, if another challenge arises, you've got to call the consultant back out.

A Business Coach, on the other hand, is someone who comes into your business and helps you learn how to fix… Continue

Be careful watch out for uninsured drivers

During this nice time we call 2009 we seem to be in a down economy. I have a advised all my friends, family, and clients of the rising number of uninsured drivers. I believe that many people will maybe faced with unemployment and some tough times and choices. What do they do? (put food on the table or go without insurance.) I believe some will choose to go without.

Preserving Flowers

The different methods of preserving flowers follow the same basic principle, to remove moisture slowly while maintaining as much of the original shape and texture as possible.

Air Drying Flowers

Begin air drying your flowers by hanging them upside down in a dark, dry and warm place. Drying flowers may take one to three weeks to complete. Dried flowers can be used to create your own potpourri by gently removing dried petals and adding a few drops of scented oils. Or create your… Continue

The Danger of Uncareful Use of Social Media

It is true that Twitter (or any other social media), used correctly, could advance your business marketing. But I sometimes wonder, has technology nowadays conformed us to be willingly "stalked virtually"?

Mind you, I have a Twitter account myself.

A friend of mine sent me a link to this article. It’s a story about a PR account executive/vice president named James Andrews from Ketchum in Atlanta who flew to Memphis to visit FedEx, one of the agency’s biggest clients. Andrews’… Continue

Here's some help for closing your 2008 books this month.

In Problem 1 below, the cash received in advance was initially recorded as unearned revenue; in Problem 2, as revenue.

Giving Back

It's amazing how we let ourselves focus on our own spheres and don't really stop to think of what we have done to help someone else? In the last 24 hrs did you ever stop to think about helping someone?

I have been waking up early, exercising, and then boom! WORK! WORK! WORK! Mind you it's especially hard for me to stop working since I love what I do. I always wished there was more time in one day. It's always GO!GO!GO!, and I have failed to really stop to think about what really… Continue

Update on my son and more

Just wanted to let everyone know that my son's CAT scan came back negative...whew! But I still get to tease him about having 'brain damage'!!

I was chosen to coach my daughter's softball team. This will be my first official softball coaching role and her first year to play. I have been reading all over the internet trying to get some good practice ideas/drills so I look like I know what I'm doing!! Actually, I've been coaching my son's baseball for years, so it shouldn't be too… Continue

What do Microsoft, Sony, ExxonMobil, McDonald’s and the hit TV series “24” have in common?

Advertising.

Successful companies understand that nothing drives business and top-of-the-mind brand awareness like advertising. It’s their secret weapon, only not so secret.

Your company or organization, large or small, can benefit from the very same sales generator the Big Boys use.

Print, radio, television, Internet and new media advertising are just as accessible to you as they are to the world’s most successful companies. And surprisingly affordable, especially in… Continue

Dinosaur Extinction Traced to Lack of Web Site

If your business doesn’t have a Web site, or if yours is out-of-date in terms of content, navigation, technology, optimization, look and feel, you’re headed for the fossil bin. You’re a dinosaur.

Think about when you personally need a product or service. Where do you go? The Yellow Pages? That would place you in the Mesozoic Era.

Modern mammals go online or use a Web function on their cell phone.

But not all Web sites are created equal. Natural selection weeds out those that are… Continue

An oil company makes a major discovery that significantly boosts production and reserves. How do investors find out about it?

Public Relations.

In today’s tough economic climate, businesses need to do everything in their power to separate themselves from the pack. Getting your name and your unique brand in the news is one surefire way to drive sales and attract new customers and investors.

Successfully telling your company’s story to the world through free newspaper and magazine articles, online, on radio and TV news shows or via the new media requires the specialized knowledge, contacts and skills of a… Continue
