Business Lessons I Learned Caddying for my Grandfather

When I was young, I used to get up very early in the morning to caddy for my Grandfather.    We used to head down to City Park in New Orleans, meet up with some of his friends, and I would get to ride in his cart and hand him whatever club he asked for.

So I thought about not posting this, because it will help my competitor if he reads it, but I wanted to benefit others.


There I was, at a Chamber of Commerce event, when he and I ended up talking to the same person.  He asked the other person how their business was doing; and the person, innocently enough, said "some good, some not so good."  And I saw the light go off in my competitors eyes.  Out came the pain exposing question: "So what are you doing to fix the not-so-good…
