Hi Nancy - I am excited that you had the foresight to start a group for the professional within an organization. I look forward to meeting and everyone who share my enthusiasm. Antoinette

Nancy -
Thank you so much for organizing this group. I certainly appreciate your invitation to join. If I can be of any assistance, especially in the “women focused” events and training area, please let me know. I look forward to participating.

This is a great idea, and I have a project I would like to propose to this group. In Afghanistan there is a great struggle for women going on. I have made friends with a number of good people from this country whose struggle to lift up their country and people is one literally of life and death on a daily basis. In one discussion the men were speaking of a young woman, who at great personal risk, voted in their national elections, only to have her vote thrown out, as corruption is still a major problem within their government.

There are many issues where the women of this country struggle, and I know of some secret shelters where women who are widows of both Afghan Soldiers, and the Taliban, are living in very poor conditions. It is an Afghan government sponsored program, but due to the presence of sheltered women who are the target of "honor killings," this work is kept very secretive.

I am in contact with official programs starting by the American military, and will soon have a formal project to present to anyone interested in lifting up these women as they struggle in their lives.

Let me know if the group or any of you as individuals are interested in participation. Have another great Texas Day, and thank a Soldier or other military person for their service. Do not forget to thank their families as well, their sacrifices are many.

I am most interested in how we can help each other. I have never paid any attention to whether I was a woman or a minority in sitiuations. I look forward to the first gathering. Seretha

When I came to Houston in 1978 there was only one well paid, professional, female in the commercial side of the natural gas bidness in Houston

Overweight male and overweight female wage discrepencies is in the news lately

Regardless. much has changed since then, thank goodness for females like my granddaughter, Aryssa

Many females, whatever size or age, are as smart as men, enjoyable to look at and to listen to, as much so as sharp, impressive men, whatever age or size

This site has recently become a little too confusing for this old timer

Would like to join the InHouston Women group but have not figured out how, yet.
