The SEEN chapter (Pearland) of ABWA is doing a backpacks for the homeless drive to be donated to the EAC.  Contact me if you would like to donate your childrens old backpacks or new ones.  These people carry all their worldly posessions on their backs and the number of never before homeless people is in on the rise in Houston.

The Emergency Aid Coalition provides  food and clothing to on a temporary basis to needy families and individuals.  We also have an annual books and backpacks program where we distribute uniforms and school supplies to needy children.

We provide sack lunches daily to Houston's homeless population.  The homeless carry all their worldly possessions on their backs usually in backpacks if they have one.  I am seeing a growing number of homeless people come through my office requesting backpacks.  Backpacks are so prized by this population that they are often stolen.  The EAC rarely gets backpacks donated therefore we rarely are able to help these people.  It would mean so much to this vulnerable population if InHouston members could donate their children's used backpacks to the EAC for distribution.

We are also in need of men's shoes and plus women's clothing.

Thank you for considering this worthwhile organization that is so near to my heart.
